Box Elder Slab Coffee Table
This coffee table is made from a box elder maple slab, which is what gives it its unique pink streaks through the middle. The original slab was very rustic with several deep cracks. These cracks were filled with epoxy to create a smooth and natural appearance. The slab was then planed, sanded, and sealed with Rubio Monocoat for protection.
The legs were custom made for the table from steel, and shaped to a unique cross-hatch pattern. All welds have been ground flat and painted black to maintain a modern aesthetic.
